
Education Leader wins first CSR Youth Award
SAN JUAN CITY — Clarissa Delgado, CEO and Co-Founder of Teach for the Philippines was recognized as the First National Awardee for the CSR Youth Awards held last August 31, 2015 at Club Filipino, Metro Manila.
Delgado bested almost 100 nominees in the nationwide search for youth leaders ages 18 to 39 years who led projects related to any of the three categories of the pillars of CSR 3.0 (Personal CSR)–Citizenship, Sustainability or Social Responsibility.
As the First National Awardee, Delgado was given a trophy and a testimonial of recognition by the organizers – the Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) and Deloitte Philippines. Special Citation was also awarded to the following individuals:
For Social Responsibility – Harvard Uy de Baron – Founder of U! Happy Events; Maria Criselda Bisda – Director of Human Resource and Training for Project WIRED; Arcie Mallari – Founder of Silid Aralan Inc.; Joven Dicen – College Student at Cavite State University.
For Citizenship – Bai Rohaniza Sumndad-Usman – Founder of Teach Peace Build Peace Movement; Gladis Morales – College Student at Far Eastern University.
For Sustainability – Renzo Guinto of Healthcare without Harm
The winner and special awardees were selected by the National Board of Judges headed by Mr. Yap and Mr. Navarro and composed of Mr. JJ Moreno, Corporate Governance Advisor to the IFC; Hon. Earl Saavedra of the National Youth Commission; Dr. Cora Claudio, Chair of the MAP Climate Change Committee; Mr. Luisito T. Amper, Country Head for Enterprise Risk Services of Deloitte Philippines; and Dr. Benito L. Teehankee, professor of DLSU and chairman of the MAP CSR Committee.
